Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) is Pakistan’s largest power supply company. The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) was established in February 1912 by industrialist Lala Harkishen Lal . In its early years, LESCO expanded its services to 12 towns in various provinces such as the Central Provinces, the United Provinces, Sindh, and the North-West Frontier Province, making it the largest power generator outside the Government Electric Supply Branch by 1941. Now it supplies electricity with the slogan “the lifeline for progress”. The Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) controls the LESCO while NEPRA (National Power Regulatory Authority) regulates this electric company.

Electricity is provided to the following districts:
Approx. 5 million customers are benefiting from LESCO. It supplies electricity to the vast urban and rural areas including industrial zones (Bata and Shah-Pur etc.) and manufacturing/processing units by covering 32k square kilometres approx.
LESCO UNIT PRICE IN PAKISTAN AND BILL ESTIMATOR
Unit price means the different rates of electricity units charged by LESCO for providing electricity to its consumers. Certain slabs are introduced by the LESCO for their customers according to their consumed units. The main purpose of introducing the slab rates is to help low-income customers by lowering the slab rates. So the LESCO has divided the consumers into two main groups namely protected consumers and non-protected consumers. The tariff chart is given besides for the facilitation of consumers:

PROTECTED CONSUMERS
Consumers who continuously use up to 200 units per month for 06 months are protected consumers; they are charged at a very low rate and are not charged against fuel price adjustments on a quarter basis.
NON-PROTECTED CONSUMERS
consumers who use more than 200 units per month are called Non-protected consumers. They are charged at higher rates than the unit’s slab rate. They also have to pay quarterly fuel price adjustments along with other taxes.

LESCO peak/off-peak hours
At the time when consumers mostly use more electricity, it is called peak hours. At this time the consumers are charged at high electricity unit rates due to the burden on national grid stations. Further, the peak hours also change with changes in the weather season.
