Un-interrupted Power Supply During the First Sehri of the Second Ashra of Ramadan Lahore
LESCO-Lahore Electric Supply Company ensured an un-interrupted power supply during the first Sehri of the second Ashra of Ramadan. All officers remained present, during a meeting in the LESCO control room to promptly address any power outages or technical issues.
The LESCO spokesperson told that special measures have been taken to ensure a smooth power supply during Sehri and Iftari in Ramadan for the public. The control room remains staffed with officers at all times, and the power system is continuously monitored to provide the best possible service to customers.
The LESCO team by strenuous efforts has successfully maintained an un-interrupted power supply during Ramadan. And the customers appreciated the efficiency of the LESCO in Ramadan. LESCO has announced that the public may immediately report any power-related issues by contacting the LESCO helpline at 118 so that the problem can be resolved without any delay.

Power Development Projects during Financial Year 2025-26
The additional Secretary of the Power Division, Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah, shared the information with the National Assembly Standing Committee on Power which was chaired by Muhammad Idrees; “The power division of Pakistan has proposed the Public Sector Development Program of amount Rs.392.5 billion for several development projects for Financial Year 2025-26”. Out of this proposed Rs.392.5 billion, Rs 1.5 billion is allocated for the Power Division, Rs 10 billion for the Jamshoro Power Company Limited’s imported-coal fired power plant, Rs 315.7 billion for NTDC, Rs 6.988 billion for HESCO, Rs 10.146 billion for MEPCO, Rs 409 million for SEPCO, Rs 7.308 billion for QESCO, Rs 13.779 billion for PESCO, Rs 6.055 billion for LESCO, Rs 20.522 billion for IESCO, and Rs 61.92 million for PPIB.
However, the Ministry of Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives has instructed the Power Division to prioritize its proposed projects for the PSDP 2025-26, indicating that the allocation will not follow the original wish list.

Anti-theft operation by LESCO with Rangers
The recent anti-theft operation conducted by the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) in collaboration with Rangers in Punjab, Pakistan, as per press release issued by spokesperson of LESCO, with aimed to curb electricity theft. 09 illegal connections were identified in Farooq-a-bad Division disconnected, reducing the load on the power grid. 08 individuals were arrested out of 09 and they had stolen 16480 units of Rs.576,800
Bill relief begins: Punjab rolls out Rs14 per Lesco unit discount

Following the instructions from the Chief Minister of Punjab, consumers have started to benefit from a Rs 14 per unit discount on their electricity bills unit on their electricity bills, as Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) begins implementation. This measure, initiated by Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO), has been implemented with guidance from Maryam Nawaz. Initially, LESCO provided this relief in the first four batches of bills, which were updated post-issuance. After including taxes and other charges, the Rs 14 per unit deduction will be applied, with a statement on the bills confirming that the Punjab government has covered the remaining costs.
Meeting reviews repair works in the LESCO region

Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) Chief Executive Officer Engineer Shahid Haider chaired a high-level meeting to review the ongoing repair works across the region here at LESCO headquarters on Wednesday. According to the company’s spokesperson, a detailed review of the repair works was done in the meeting and the Chief Executive Officer directed all the concerned officers to personally monitor the repair work and ensure that all repair work is completed in time.
LESCO detects 600 power pilferers in 24 hours

Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has detected a total of 600 connections from where the customers were pilfering electricity in all its circles of five districts (Lahore, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Kasur and Okara) during its anti-power theft campaign in the last 24 hour.
The LESCO spokesman told media here Wednesday that the company has also submitted FIR applications against electricity thieves, out of which 235 FIRs have been registered in respective police stations, while 33 accused have been arrested by the respective police.
Among the seized connections 01 were industrial, 18 commercials, 04 agricultural, and 577 domestic, and all these connections were disconnected and charged with a total of 428,278 units as detection bill amounting to Rs 18.382 million. During the 389 days of the grand anti-theft campaign, the spokesman mentioned, the LESCO detected pilferage on 143,579 power connections and 135,207- FIRs have been registered against electricity thieves in the relevant police stations, while 42,766 accused have so far been arrested by the police. The LESCO has so far charged a total of 154,258,903 detection units worth Rs 5,631,531,605 to all the power pilferers.
A series of public hearings continue across LESCO region

On the special instructions of the Ministry of Power Division, a series of open Kachehry (public/customers hearings) are being held in the LESCO region with the aim of solving the problems faced by the consumers in electricity bills and other matters immediately.
Chief Executive Engineer Shahid Haider said here Wednesday that public/customers hearings are being conducted in all eight circles of LESCO. The public is also being informed about this in advance through the media and Pina Flexes.
All the SDOs along with their teams are ensuring regular holding of open kachehry in their sub-divisions on a daily basis. Superintending Engineers (SEs) and Executive Engineers (X-Ens) are reviewing these public hearings. Total 1,261 complaints of various types were received in the open kachehry held on Wednesday out of which 1,260 complaints were addressed on the spot.
It should be noted that Chief Executive LESCO Engineer Shahid Haider himself is also making a surprise visit to the open kachehry along with his team. The customers welcomed this initiative of LESCO and hoped that LESCO will continue to make all possible efforts for the convenience of the customers in the future.
LESCO system shortcoming to be resolved soon: CEO

LAHORE, Nov 27 (APP):Lahore Electricity Supply Company (LESCO) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Engineer Shahid Haider pledged on Wednesday that the system shortcoming would be resolved soon.
He was talking to the business community here at the LCCI with Chamber President Mian Abuzar Shad, Senior Vice President Engineer Khalid Usman, Vice President Shahid Nazir Chaudhry and Executive Committee members in presence.
The LCCI office-bearers raised various issues including unjustified cases against business community, over billing, power theft and line losses, etc.
The LCCI CEO said that all LESCO staff had been advised to give due honor to consumers. He also gave instruction to the LESCO officials to save contact number of LCCI office-bearers in their mobiles and respond quickly to their complaints. He said that longstanding issue of overbilling has been resolved while strict actions are being taken against wrongdoing by the LESCO staff.
He informed the LCCI office-bearers that the MDI (Maximum Demand Indicator) charges are related to NEPRA. He said that the issues of electricity transmission are being resolved as a priority. He invited the LCCI President Mian Abuzar Shad to inform him about the illegal FIRs against the businessmen and assured him of prompt rectification measures. He said that line losses were 15.4 percent last year which would be reduced further.
LESCO Chief said that a system has been placed for the issuance of B3 and B4 connections to save the precious time of the business community.
LCCI President Mian Abuzar Shad drew attention to the MDI fixed charges imposed by NEPRA on industrial and commercial consumers. He said that industries are required to pay 50 percent of their sanctioned load charges even without using electricity. This has significantly increased operational costs, and LESCO must play its role in addressing this burden.
